WP to Tier 1

Post by talk2ananth » Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:00 pm

I have been a silent viewer of this forum but I should admit that this forum is quite helpful. I thank everyone for their valuable posts.

I got my visa approved and here are the details:

Applied on : 22-05-2008 (Sent by royalmail spl delivery next day)
Reference dtd: 23-05-2008 & PB3056****
Approved on: 03-07-2008
Received on: 08-07-2008 (royalmail recorded delivery)

Points Awarded (with Docs attached):
1. Qualifications - 30 (Degree Certificate & Marksheets)
2. Prev Earnings - 45 (Payslips-12mons, P-60(exactly matching payslips & total), Letter from Employer stating all the 12 months salaries, Bank Statements-12 mons
3. UK Experience - 5 (No specific docs)
4. Age - 0
5. English Language - 10 (Letter from the University stating Medium of instruction - though this is not necessary)
6. Maintenance funds - 10 (Savings account statement for 3 months)

Also attached a copy of the points calculator output from BIA website.

There is a sad news though, my name in the visa is printed wrongly. Could anyone suggest me what could be the best route to get this one sorted?

What's the error? A spelling mistake or something else?

Contact UKBA helpline for advice.

Yes, its a spelling mistake. I have contacted them and guess what? I should send the passport back :-(

Anyway, thanks for your suggestion.

Can't imagine how it can be done without you sending back your passport.

Hi,

Did you get an email or any type of notification before you received your documents?Or did you just know the date of your approval based on the date of the letter when you finally received your documents?

Thanks!

No notifications at all but the documents arrived via the standard RM recorded delivery. I got the know the approval date only after seeing the letter & visa. I think including a spl delivery envelope along with the application is a good idea - atleast we will know a day before the document arrives :-)
