Tier 2 dependent visa application

Hi All,

I am on Tier2 General and in the process to apply for my wifes dependent visa. I would like to know how early can I apply a visa for her. Suppose she is planning to travel 6 months later then can I mention the travel date as 6 months later and apply for the visa now itself.

Also is there a link for the home office site that provides a consolidated list of all the required documents for dependent visa.

You can apply for a visa up to 3 months in advance of travelling.
