I am an indian married to an irish citizen and on a 5 year visa, I have just applied for a tourist visa to go to canada for 2 weeks in august,

so do i need a get a transit visa for uk

as we are flying from dublin to london heathrow and then direct to vancouver and the waiting time is only about 3 hours in total in london heathrow.

any light on this will be great help.

Being an Indian citizen, you are a Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) national. But since you will be proceeding to / returning from Canada (through LHR) with a valid visa for entry to Canada, you are exempted from DATV requirement during this trip.
