Post by Sonu21 » Tue Aug 27, 2019 1:26 pm

Hi all,
My mother just got adult dependent settlements visa ( indefinite leave to enter). Her age is 71year
My question are:
1) can she apply gor N I number?
2) NHS is free?
3) optician And dentists?
4) prescriptions are free or need to pay?
5) can she apply any sort of benefits?

Kindly advise me. Thanks in advance

My understanding is that you cannot claim any of those. Normally you would had to have proven the following to be granted the visa:
the person you’ll be joining in the UK will be able to support, accommodate and care for you without claiming public funds for at least 5 years

Yes. But does she plan to work?

On the same terms as other people on ILR.

NHS Dentistry is not free, even for British citizens.

Prescriptions depends on where in the UK you live. Different rules apply in England, Scotland, Wales and NI.

BlondeSafari's answer above applies here.

Hi Sonu21

My mother is old and is unable to take care of herself. I would like her to bring to the UK on adult dependent visa. Could you please suggest to me what sort of documentation you have provided and how long it took you to get a visa?

Many thanks in advance.
