Avoiding ILR shortfall

Post by i.need.help » Thu Aug 29, 2019 12:05 pm

Hi, advice needed please regarding completing 60 months for ILR....

Arrived in the UK on a 33 month visa on 19 March 2015. Visa was valid until 20/11/2017. Applied for FLR-M “date of issue” 25/08/2017. Valid until 23/03/2020.

When do 60 months complete and when is the earliest and latest ILR can be applied for?

I want to avoid any shortfalls.

What are the reasons someone can have a shortfall when applying for ILR?

Thanks in advance.
TIMELINE

Spouse Visa (Entry Clearance) granted on 20-02-15
FLR-M (Extension) granted on 24-08-17
ILR (SET-M) not due until 2020

You can apply no sooner than within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the date you ENTERED the UK, i.e 19th March 2020 minus 28 days.
What are the reasons someone can have a shortfall when applying for ILR?
Arriving very late after visa is issue and applying way too early for extensions.

You don't have any shortfall as your visa expires after your 5th anniversary of the date you entered.

So IF I did have a shortfall the expiry date on the BRP would have been earlier than 19 March? Like 10 March for example?

Am I right in saying I can apply for ILR on or after the 20th Feb 2020?

Thanks.
