Question about expiry date of GESE A1 Certificate

Hi all,

I'm due to make an application next year for my wife next year for us to come back to the UK after a period overseas.

When we were in the UK last year for a trip I got my wife through a GESE A1 test again and we have the SELT number etc.

All other parts of the application in order.

My question is the expiry date of the test is September - what date counts in regards to the certificate being considered valid ?

- The date you submit it online
- The date that go to give your biometrics / hand in your passport
- The (unknown) date when the entry clearance office looks at it?

I want to try and leave it as late as possible but not get caught out by them saying it's expired.

What type of visa did you get for your wife before that required getting the GESE A1 test?

Initial Leave to remain for Spouse followed by FLR(M)

We then for personal reasons had to move overseas.

She got FLR(M) under the old pre 5 year routes rules.

If its A1 ielts life skills test which is still on HO list then can be used until its expiry.
