Applying for my first british Passport

Hi , I am applying for my first British passport and they are asking for two people to confirm my identity , i work in retail and not have many professional friends from the required fields , my friend who works in pharmacy agreed to sign for me but his just a pharmacy assistant , is that okay or i need a pharmacist to sign it ???

Passports only require one referee as far as I am aware. A pharmacy assistant is not sufficient no.

how about a pharmacy manager , will that be enough? I am friends with pharmacy manager at my retail store and he said he can also do it ? he knows me more than for 4 years professionaly and out of the work place,

It needs to be someone on the hmpo professional list who is also British.
