Spouse visa application for my Vietnamese wife

Dear all,

We are applying for a spouse visa for my Vietnamese wife who is currently in Vietnam. I am both British and Vietnamese and we plan to include the following documents in the application:

1. Her current Vietnamese passport
2. Copies of the photo page and any visa or entry stamps in her previous passports
3. Her tuberculosis test result report
4. Her English test result report
5. Sponsorship undertaking form (I will be the sponsor. Is this form required?)
6. A copy of my British passport (Do we need to submit a certified copy?)
7. A copy of my divorce certificate issued by a local UK court (as I was previously married but my wife was never married before) (Does this has to be certified?)
8. Our marriage certificate issued by local Vietnamese authority (certified by notary public)
9. My bank statements showing my income
10. My payslips for 6 months
11. Letter from my employer

Are the above documents sufficient or will we still need to include other documents in the application? Thank you very much and look forward to hearing from you.

6. Copy is fine. Doesn't need to be certified.

7. You need the original divorce decree.

You also need evidence of subsisting relationship, ie screenshots of WhatsApp chats, FB chat, call logs, visits you made etc.

You also need proof of adequate accommodation.

8. Our marriage certificate issued by local Vietnamese authority

Don’t forget that your marriage certificate needs to be translated if it wasn’t issued in English.

You also need evidence of subsisting relationship, ie screenshots of WhatsApp chats, FB chat, call logs, visits you made etc.

Complementing CR001’s advice, don’t forget to include photos of you and your wife (especially from the engagement and wedding), and any additional supporting evidence, such as flight bookings, hotel reservations, and a sample of your wedding invitation is also a nice one (if you still have one).
