WP switch and FLR validity

Post by pieterkley83 » Sun Jul 27, 2008 9:16 am

HI there.

My partner received letter from HO on 06/06/08 stating that he may switch employers.
We will be travelling to Netherlands in September on his old employers visa.
Will it be a problem seeing that he has not yet applied for new FLR, we have six month after all? Will we run into any problems when re entering the country?

Thanx

pieterkley,
Your question lacks some important data to help people with understanding your situation.

Would it be safe to assume that the WP holder has started to work for the new employer ? he must change the EC on the passport as soon as possible; technically, the existing stamp on the passport is not valid, he needs a new EC on the passport. does the letter require him to change FLR?

Hello pieterkley83

Just do as it says on the letter, apply for further leave to remain within six months or before the current EC or residence permit runs out, whichever is the sooner.

Your partner could carry a letter from the new employer saying that they have started their new post and a copy of the letter from UK Border Agency if they are worried.

try-one, the in country letters give the work permit holder up to six months to apply on FLR(IED).

Regards.

Hi there my partner got his letter to switch on 06/06/08 and started working at new employer on 07/07/08. current ec expires in 2012. so i assume we will be okay to travel as long as we have the permission letter. we have time until 06/12/08 to apply, but will do so as soon as we come back on 22/09/08 from our holiday.
