Recognition of divorce

Post by spiderblob » Wed Dec 04, 2019 11:23 am

Hi
First wife was Filipino and married in Philippines. Came to UK on spouse visa, divorced in UK and she returned. Now want to bring new Filipino fiance to UK (fiance visa).
The UK divorce cannot easily be registered in Philippines as they do not allow divorces; instead they have a long drawn-out annulment system. (No Philippine annulment was done.)
My question: is the previous UK divorce recognised and sufficient for UKVI for the fiance application despite the lack annulment in the Philippines?
Thanks

UK divorce decree absolute is sufficient for visa purposes.
