Travelling to India first time using my (Yet to come) British Passport

Post by abhishek.gite446 » Wed Jan 08, 2020 4:56 pm

Hi,

I have got my Naturalisation approved yesterday and I have citizenship ceremony scheduled for day after tomorrow (Friday). On Friday itself I will be applying for my British Passport. I am planning to travel to India around end of Feb 2020. I have few questions related to my scenario.

1) Is there a way I can apply for priority British Passport application ? Do I need to apply priority or normal timelines are enough given my travelling plans.

2) As I dont think I have enough time to apply for OCI even if I receive my British passport well in time. Will I need to take a tourist Indian Visa as now I am an British Citizen ?

3) For Indian Visa, can anyone help me with agents address or a link where I can apply ?

Thanks in advance.

1. No, only standard option is available for first British passports. Usually takes 2 to 3 weeks.

2. You should ask your OCI questions in the Other Countries sub forum further down the main forum page.

3. See #2 answer above.
