Question on ILR for child

Post by Div118 » Wed Jan 22, 2020 4:09 pm

Hello,
I got my ILR in Jan 2019( via 5 year tier 2 general route) , and i am now eligible to apply for naturalisation. My question is whether i have to apply for ILR for my daughter or can i directly apply for naturalisation/ citizenship for her, once my husband gets his ILR. My daughter was born in India in 2016 and my husband is still on pbs dependent visa and so is my daughter. Both my daughter and husband will be eligible for ILR in October 2020. So do i have get ILR for my daughter first along with my husbands ILR application and then go for naturalisation? Or she will be automatically eligible for naturalisation?
Any help will be much appreciated
Thanks

Children do NOT naturalise, they get registered. Non UK born children must hold ILR in order to get registered as British. One parent must be British and the other parent must also be settled or British too
