Frequently Asked Questions wrote:How long does my visa application take?
It usually takes the High Commission five working days to return your completed application if you submit all of the correct documents. But please note that complex cases may take longer, and in the case of settlement applications the waiting time may be several weeks.
You will receive email updates from the High Commission to let you know how your application is progressing.
You should make your application in good time, but not normally more than 3 months before you plan to travel. Please bear in mind that time is needed to process your application and return your passport to you. Letters cannot be issued to enable you to enter the UK.
You have two weeks after your biometric enrolment appointment to submit your application, passport and supporting documents to the High Commission. If you apply via the Toronto Visa Application Centre you may leave your application documents there for onward transmission to the High Commission. You also have the option to collect your passport and visa from the Toronto VAC when processing is complete.
Note: Certain categories of entry clearance applications may have to be referred to either the Home Office or to UKvisas in London or deferred to the UK Post in the applicant’s home country. This process can take several weeks or months.
You can track the progress of your application through the WorldBridge website.
