Do you get your IRP back during Citizenship Ceremony?

Post by javiercarrillo » Tue Feb 25, 2020 2:36 pm

Hi everyone,

For those who have already been to the citizenship ceremony, did you get your documentation, especially your IRP/GNIB, back that day?

Thanks,
Javier

No. An IRP is for non-EU nationals. Once you are naturalised, you are no longer required to have an IRP because you are an EU national.

Thanks. I was curious if on the day of the ceremony, they would return the IRP to me. It sounds like the answer is no since, effectively, I will be Irish.

Thank you!
