switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2 Covid19 guidance

Post by soginy » Thu May 07, 2020 6:04 pm

I am just putting this out here for anyone who is in a similar situation. I am currently on a tier 4 VISA and just got a job. I have applied for my tier 2 VISA and according to the government covid19 guidance, I should be able to start work once I have received my CoS and completed the online application. However, my employer has conducted a standard employer check at the response they got was that I am only able to work for 20 hours which would have been the standard rule because I am switching from tier 4 to tier 2. The guidance does not specify VISA categories it just states that you can start work once you complete your online application. I am not sure if I can work full time now or still limited to the 20 hours.

Until your tier 2 visa is granted, your existing tier 4 visa conditions apply to you.
