Unrestricted CoS

Hello everyone, i have a question and hoping someone would be able to advise me on this.

I first got my tier 2 on 1st December 2016 with company A, and then I extended my tier 2 with company B because I changed company/job, which valid from 1st October 2018 until 15th October 2021.
So from 1st December 2016 up to 15 October 2021 I have only accumulated 4 years and 10 months.
I think I would need another 2 months before I can quality for ILR. I knew we can only stay in UK for max of 6 years under tier 2.

So my question is can I extend my visa next year possibly for just another 1 year? (Because I’m not sure if CoS can be issue for 1 year, or it has to be 3 years or more?)

And then apply for ILR as soon as I reach 5 years?

CoS can be issued for even 6 months. Your total stay on Tier 2 General cannot be more than 6 years.

Hello guys, anyone of you know if Tier 2 sponsor can issue an unrestricted CoS covering employment for 1 year only rather than 3 years?

This is because I have accumulated 4.5 years on Tier 2 general and I will need to extend my tier 2 again so I have 5 years to apply for ILR. I know we can’t stay for more than 6 years under tier 2 general so I only need 1 more year.

CoS can be issued for even 6 months. Your total stay on Tier 2 General cannot be more than 6 years.
