Getting started question

Hi,

I appreciate most of the questions are asked multiple times and I did a search and have done filtering to my questions to get started with the application.

1) I and my wife got the ILR last year in May on the same day, but our entries in UK 6 years ago were on a different date, I assume that doesn't matter?

2) The requirement to be in the country 5 years ago -So if I keep editing the application say for the next 5 days and submit it on 15th June 2020 then I should have been in the UK on 15th June 2015?

3) I have 5 years of P60 but my wife wasn't working so what documents does she need?

4) Do I need to provide 10 years of work history even though I was working in the UK for the last 6 years only?

5) For Referees can I use one of the following as professional referre?
a) Software engineer working in a private company?
b) Gynecologist working for NHS
c) Dentist working for the private clinic

6) Since there are lot of delays in the processing, will I be able to travel outside UK once I submit the application (I remember it was not possible during ILR)

Citizenship is based on the on the 5 years immediately preceding the date of application.

Correct.

P60s are NOT required. For residence, you ONLY need your passports.

The questions does state 10 years or however long you have been in the UK.

b) Gynecologist working for NHS
c) Dentist working for the private clinic

b and c yes, either one.

6) Since there are lot of delays in the processing, will I be able to travel outside UK once I submit the application (I remember it was not possible during ILR)

You are free to travel. You are not making an immigration application (ILR).

Here are questions on today's progress so far

1. Is it correct that my wife would have to apply with a separate application or can she apply as my dependent in the same application?

2. There is also a question Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time? what should be the answer to this based on the answer to the above question 1.

3. Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English? -- I have already answered yes to another question before this one Have you been granted indefinite leave to enter, or remain, in the UK? so should this be also yes and what will be the answer for follow up question (if I select yes) Tell us the previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain you had Just the text *indefinite leave to remain* ??

4. What will you use to prove your degree taught in English?
Two options are
a) Degree certificate
b) Official transcript or letter
I have both and also a certificate from NARIC to prove that the degree I had in my country is valid in UK and taught in English.

5. [A penalty for a driving offence -- does fine for driving in the bus lane falls under this? it was paid with no points on the licence or anything else.

6. Have you made any previous UK immigration applications in the UK or abroad? -- Do I need to say yes for my previous Tier 2 applications?

There's no dependent concept in naturalisation. Every person applies in their own right and has to comply with all requirements individually. Though I understand you can add another applicant to your existing online application.

Per 1. this would be NO.

YES to both.

Two options are

Presumably you had to prove English for your ILR, therefore select the relevant the option. Not this one.

Declare the fine but it has no impact on your application.

YES but it asks for all applications, i.e. up to and including ILR.

It is still asking how will I prove my English Degree or Letter I think for the degree section you answer NO then it should give you the option to confirm you provided English for your ILR. You are using your ILR English to prove AN English, not your degree.

How did you meet the English requirment for ilr?

You do NOT have to say yes to both questions. The question is only relevant to meeting the English requirment. Ho don't care what your qualifications are for any other purpose.

is Yes the expected/right answer?

2. If you do not meet the statutory requirements to become a British citizen, are there any special circumstances why you think the Home Secretary should still grant your application?

This was after I answered NO to the question Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen

4. Do you have any other details that you would like to be considered regarding this applicant and their application to be registered as a British Citizen?

Should this be NO as well?
