Language qualification confusion

Post by e2saleh » Sun Jun 21, 2020 2:10 am

Hi,

I went through other posts in the forum but couldn't see a case similar to mine hence am posting:

My wife is applying for SET(M) as a spouse of a British citizen through the 5 years route. We were aiming to use her SELT Grade 5 B1 certificate from Trinity College which she obtained on 31/03/2015 for the FLR(M) application back then, BUT it seems the home office has published new document last month (here) with a note that SELT B1 is effective from 6/4/2015!! So I am not even sure if we still can use that!
For the second 2.5 years of the FLR(M) my wife did the SELT Grade 3 (CEFR Level A2.1) because we thought the B1 was not valid anymore! My wife passed the A2 test on 23/10/2017 and we have a (UER) for it but my understanding that test is valid for only 2 years!! Does that mean really we need to do another langauge test now or any of the previous tests can be used? Sorry for the long message but those recent changed has confused me and made me panic at the last minute!

Thanks,

The original SELT B1 will be accepted
Applying to settle in the UK
You can use a B1 level qualification that’s run out if both of the following are true:

it’s on the current list of recognised tests
it was accepted for another UK immigration application, for example when you got permission to enter

Thank you for the confirmation. My concern was mainly because the home office says B1 is effective from 6/4/2015 whereas the B1 certificate we have was obtained a week before that on 31/3/2015! The other challenge is the B1 certificate does not have unique electronic reference number and the SET(M) online application which am doing now won't progress without that number. The B1 certificate has qualification number and candidate number but I am not sure if those could be used instead of the unique electronic reference number!

Ignore the effective date. Enter the qualification number instead
