Switching from Tier 2 to another visa

Post by Blattes » Sat Jul 18, 2020 12:03 pm

Hi guys
I have applied 10 days ago to switch from Tier 2 visa to Turkish business visa. I am still working where I am currently working, I wonder if I can quit or reduce my hours whilst waiting for the visa? I think for me to get appointment it will be at least a month and another 6 months for the visa to be processed. In the meantime I do not want to do anything illegal but I want to know my options. Do I have to work for my employer full time? Can I reduce my hours? Can I not work at all? Thanks!

While an application is pending decision with HO, your tier 2 visa conditions continue, which means you can only work for your sponsor, full time with the minimum hours of 30 per week.

You cannot work for yourself either while an application is pending.

You can resign if you wish, but as stated, you will then not be permitted to do ANY form of work.

Thanks. I will go for 30 hours per week as I thought so too. I know already I can’t work for myself till the visa is processed.
