Is Proof of Accomodation mandatory when applying for EC

Hi

I am currently based in Hyderabad and need to apply for the Entry Clearance. I have not sorted out my accommodation as I shall do it
only after reaching UK. I plan to stay with friends for a few weeks. Is this a mandatory requirement to show "Proof of Accommodation".

simple, go and book a hotel thru booking.com for 2 weeks, they dont charge u anything and if u want to cancel it, do it before ur travel.
u can attach that along with ur application.

dont forget to read the cancellation rules of the hotel u select.

most of the hostel charge 1 night charge for no show.

Koila, to answer your question, it seems to depend where you are applying from. Indian members in particular seem to consider it important. Your best bet is to check with your local British High Commission as to what their policy is and what evidence (if any) they will require. This is one area where, traditionally, there has been a great deal of variance in the way BHCs in different countries deal with it.
