Tier2General - Change of Sponsor

Post by sunnyf21 » Tue Jul 21, 2020 11:52 pm

Hello All,

Thanks for your help in advance.

Currently I am on Tier 2 General Visa valid till 01/2024. I am switching the employer and they are ready to sponsor my Tier 2 General for 2 years. My concern is when can I start with new employer and put my papers in my current company(considering the COVID situation and delay in Visa processing):
1) When I receive new COS or
2) after filing application for new visa and waiting for approval or
3) after filing application for new visa and only after getting confirmation from home office that I can start with my new employer or
4) Only after receiving the new BRP

Kindly advise and let me know if there is anything else needs to be considered.
Thanks

Tier2General - Change of Sponsor - IHS

Post by sunnyf21 » Wed Jul 22, 2020 12:03 am

Hello All,

Thanks for your help in advance.

Currently I am on Tier 2 General Visa valid from 01/2019 till 01/2024 (5 years) and my dependent has the same validity. I am switching employer and my new employer is sponsoring my new Tier 2 General for 2 years.
My concerns are :
1) Do we need to file new application for dependent as well or existing BRP will be valid? If new application needs to be filed, does it needs to be filed at the same time or it can be done later as my dependent is not in UK currently.
2) We paid for IHS for 5 years with our current visa application. Do we need to Pay for IHS again with our new application?

Kindly Advise
Thanks!

If you’ve applied for a Tier 2 or 5 visa and are waiting for a decision on your application
You can start work before your visa application has been decided if:

you’ve been assigned a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS)
you submitted your application before your current visa expired and you show your sponsor evidence of this
the job you start is the same as the one listed on your CoS
If your application is eventually rejected as invalid or refused your sponsor will stop sponsoring you and you must stop working for them.

2. You have to pay again.
