Ccohabitation evidences won't be needed for initial spouse visa.erocha4177 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 12:19 pmAlthough I am switching from a fiancé visa to spouse visa this time, I am looking into the extension I will need to apply for in 2.5 years so I can get documents and proof of cohabitation ready.
I have read you need 6 items of correspondence, from 3 different sources (confusing wording). I understand you need to cover 6 months total, one item every 4 months for 2 years. Currently, my future husband and I have a joint bank account, council tax in both of our names and gas and electric bill (one combined bill). Will that be sufficient enough for the spouse visa extension or will we need 2 different sources of just our name each for 3 of the 6 months? Any advice/help is very much appreciated!!
You only have been granted 6 months leave in order to switch to spouse visa within the UK so you are not expected to have much evidence but include any cohabitation proof leading to the date of the application.erocha4177 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 12:14 pmAlthough I am switching from a fiancé visa to spouse visa this time, I am looking into the extension I will need to apply for in 2.5 years so I can get documents and proof of cohabitation ready.

Anything issued in joint/individual names is usable for proving cohabitation or subsisting relationship. To keep the confusion to minimal, Ideally the main focus should be on switching into spouse visa which doesn't require 2 years of cohabitation evidences but recent subsisting relationship evidences.erocha4177 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 9:26 am

In total these should be 6 (if joint named).erocha4177 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 12:59 pmyes of course but I will need to get more bills in both of our names now so I will have the proof in 2.5 years. im just asking if 3 joint bills is sufficient enough for the spouse visa EXTENSION.seagul wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 12:14 pmAnything issued in joint/individual names is usable for proving cohabitation or subsisting relationship. In total you will need 6 joint named documents from 3 different sources covering the last 2 years with even gaps of 3-4 months. Assuming you have all joint named bills so illustratively attach following:erocha4177 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 10:52 am6 different sources or 3 different sources and 2 bills from each? sorry this whole proof of cohabitation for extension is super confusing (and worded weird)seagul wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 1:03 pmYes provided from three different provider such as electricity bill, council tax, broadband bill. Perfect! Could we use bank statements for our joint account as a source? Thank you so much! The wording is so confusing, way more than it should be.seagul wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:42 pmIn total you will need 6 joint named documents from 3 different sources covering the last 2 years with even gaps of 3-4 months. 2 × gas bills
2× council tax bills
2× broadband bills.

28 days rule doesn't apply over cohabitation evidences. It applies to financial documents.erocha4177 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 5:09 pmanother question, do all of the documents need to be within 28 days of the application? thanksseagul wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 2:17 pmYeserocha4177 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 27, 2020 10:02 am

Okay so some of the cohabitation evidences could be from when I first arrived here in March-april? Also, I’ve read some people write a cover letter, are there any templates or do I just write what I want them to know?seagul wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 5:15 pm28 days rule doesn't apply over cohabitation evidences. Cohabitation evidence is required for this, there’s a list of forms and documents needed at the end of the online application
You are marrying in less than a month and ideally the main focus should be over it as a lot of operations/activities are subject to change with less/no notice. You have already been told that you don't require any cohabitation evidence for now.erocha4177 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:41 pmHi there, I am currently on a fiance visa in the UK due to get married on August 22 2020.
