Post by bobby Ji » Mon Sep 01, 2008 5:34 am

hello Seniors,

I want to know ,if you have stamp 4 EUFAM , how long you have to wait for applying Irish naturalization or Irish nationality, is it 5 years or 3 years???
and is this stamp 4 EUFAM also a permanent residency ,or after 5 years you have to apply for permanent residency.

i would appreciate,if somebody will give better idea.
thanks

The Stamp 4 EUFAM is not a permanent residence card. The non-EEA national on that stamp is eligible to apply for permanent residency after 5 years.
Permanent Residence - EU citizens and their family members may apply, respectively, for a Permanent Residence Certificate or Permanent Residence Card after they have resided for a continuous period of 5 years in Ireland.
A non-EEA national who is the spouse of an EEA national will have to wait 5 years before applying for naturalisation as well.

The only time a non-EEA national can apply for naturalisation in less time is when married to an Irish Citizen.
