husband left wife in her country and took all her docs

Post by nihad » Mon Aug 17, 2020 8:01 pm

Hi

Posting on behalf of a lady

She came to UK on spouse visa married to British passport holder and married, they had 2 kids together and they go abroad to visit wife’s country, the husband then leaves the wife in her country and he take all her documents and passport, then he returns to UK with both kids.
The wife is looking for advice on what todo how can she see kids and return to UK?

Thanks

Exceptionally wistful situation. But taking away someone's documents forcefully is a criminal activity which must be reported to appropriate authority in first instance.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

I agree with @seagul's assessment. It may or may not be a criminal offence in the relevant country, but should certainly be reported to the police.

I am not sure that the lady in question would have a right to come to the UK, especially if the husband is not sponsoring her anymore and/or has notified the Home Office that the relationship is no longer subsisting. If the children are being taken care of by one parent, I doubt that the other parent would have a right to come to the UK.

But await advice from others.
