Promotion after submitting Tier 2 extension

Hi All,

On Friday (14/08/2020) I was invited to do promotion interview and I am not sure whether I would get promoted and when (could be this Friday or next Friday, or even the end of September). Meanwhile my current salary is above salary threshold and I have got CoS assigned since last July. Will it be a good decision if I wait until I got promoted (which is uncertain and the salary increase would be > £10K with the same employer and SOC)? or should I just apply now since I have everything I need anyway and my salary hasn't been increased?

Let's say if I have already submitted the Tier 2 extension with my current salary, with current CoS, and the tier 2 extension decision has not been decided yet but then I got promoted before my current visa expires, will the tier 2 extension application be rejected due to the change of salary?

As long as the promotion won't get you out of your current SOC, why not applying now as you have everything in hand?

Yes I have applied using my current salary information before promotion payrise. Then again, if I got promoted (salary would increase > 10k per year) before even making an appointment, would my extension get rejected? or do they consider the situation before online submission only?
