New application does not automatically cancel existing one. Do actually go through the cancellation of the current application, and since biometrics not submitted, expect to get refund or chase for refund.arjay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 11:56 amSomeone I know has made what should have been a FLR(M) application, but upon submission, the "Payment Successful" confirmation shows in one place: "Private Life Route" and in another place as "Family Route". They are married and she is at the 2.5 year point on a spouse visa, applying for the second 2.5 years.
I assume they have selected something incorrectly when keying in the details and that the system has taken it as a FLR (P) or similar. Another clue is that the application hasn't asked for any details of income. You assumed correctly, it is wrong form.
Can anyone confirm that it should indeed be showing FLR (M) (Spouse) and not Family Visa or Private Life route, AND how best to resolve the situation?
Would it be best to make a new application under the correct route and if so, will the new application automatically cancel the existing application? And if so, how would they get a refund? The existing application was only submitted 2 days ago and no documents have been uploaded or biometric appointments arranged, so it can't/won't have been processed by the Home Office.
Thanks everyone.
A covering letter alone might not fix this mistake which have decimated the entire rhythm as the questions about financial threshold must inevitably have been asked.

Start a new correct FLR(M) application.
They are cancelling the FLR application submitted in the wrong category. I note the system asks what category the application was in. I guess that would be FLR (FP). We aren't really sure exactly what category it was. Should be
Also, what about the question on the new FLR (M) application, which asks: Have you already submitted an application to the HO? They have, but as they are now cancelling it, should they say "No" to that question? The answer will be 'NO', one of the reasons why the wrong application has to be cancelled as you can not have two live application running with HO
