ILR Long Residence - Concerned

Post by iceman010899 » Fri Sep 05, 2008 1:35 pm

Hello,

I got ILR under the long residence rules this May 08 at Croydon PEO. Last year Oct 07 I changed my college and did not notify BIA of the change. And the old college I was in has now closed for some reason. The student visa was given for the old college and expires in Nov 2008. Please confirm if my ILR can be revoked because it seems like I havent attended college according to the BIA systems (no record of new college). Or do I notify them ?? Does it matter now that I have ILR ?

Thank you.

It is unlikely that they will revoke your ILR unless you are a threat to the national security. So don't worry about it and lay low ;-)

Unless HO formed the opinion your last student RP was gained by deception they would not be interested in revoking your ILR.

Hi,

The HO not having info on the new college in their systems CAN cause problems right ? It would seem as if I didnt attend college as the old one is closed down on Oct 07.

This is doing my head in. What should I do ?

The student visa expires on Nov 08 and I got ILR in May 08.

Iceman,
I think the only time you are going to fall foul of the HO, is when you apply for Naturalisation and they do the back ground checks in more detail, then with ILR.
I don't have any advice from this point on, other than hold your breath and hope they don't reject your application and retract your ILR.

Siggi,

Thanks man. Maybe I should notify the HO about the new college.
