Tier 2 dependent applying for ilr 4 months short

Post by FarI90 » Sun Sep 13, 2020 12:41 am

Hi,
I found this topic to be most relevant to my query. Apologies if this is not the right place, it will be helpful if you can guide me to the right thread.

I entered UK in September 2015 with T2 general visa. I literally just got my ILR yesterday.

I got married in 2016 in Pakistan (not married to a uk citizen) and my wife came to the UK in December 2016. As my t2G visa could last until Sep 2021, her brpwill expire almost 4 months before her 5 year residence is completed to apply for ILR (i.e. Brp expiry is Sep 2021 whereas 5 years will complete in December 2021).

I did some research and got to know that she can apply for an extension as pbs t2g dependent still despite me getting the ILR and her time spent in the UK won’t be reset. Can that extension be for 4 months or will it have to be for full 3 years (meaning I will have to pay IHS amounting to 1800+ 😰)?
