Dependent Visa Application Time Lines (From India) -Aug 2008

Post by shashi545 » Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:02 am

INFO: Regarding Dependant Visa Application Timeline From India during August/September 2008

Application date: 29 Aug 2008
Status: Processed application delivered to Blue Dart on 05 Sep 2008

I had Tier1 Visa myself, received on 22nd July. I applied for my depedants, wife & kid, on 29th August while I was in India and surprisingly received it within 6 working days, though VFS told me it takes 15 working days.

Hi,

You can search this forum to get answers to your question. There are lot of posts regarding this. When I applied for my dependents, I also got the list of docs from this forum alone.

Since I applied from India (before traveling to UK), the list of docs might be different than if main applicant is already in UK. Here is the list of docs I submitted:

1. Proof of Accommodation - 2 weeks hostel booking, twin private room
2. Sponsor's employment Details - My offer letter
3. Main applicant's payslips - Latest 6 months payslips, stamped & signed
4. Bank Statements - 15 months bank statement from my bank account
5. IT Docs - Form 16
6. Marriage Certificate + 2 marriage Photos
7. My son's Birth Certificate
8. My Wife's Qualification - Degree Certificate
9. Main applicant's Passport Copy - First & Last Page + Visa Page
10. Of course the visa form - POINTS BASED SYSTEM FORM (VAF10 JUL 2008) DEPENDANT

If your friend is already in UK then he needs to submit Sponsor's letter inviting his dependents I suppose, also Proof of Accommodation should be a house he has rented, with other details. Please search the forum for this.

I paid a DD of 51K each for my dependent, in the name of British Deputy High Commission. Payable at Chennai. DD was from ICICI bank.

Regards
Shashi
