Visa for Friend from India

I am planning to bring my friend from India for 3-4 months.

Please can someone tell me the procedure and documents needed?

That's going to be hard.

If your friend is able to stay 4 months in the UK, he is probably not employed in India.

Can you tell more about him? What does he do in India and what are his social and professional ties there?
