Surrendering Indian Passport and OCI

Hello All,

Many thanks for whoever helped me to get through the British Citizenship application. I have now received an approval email for the same.

I am yet to attend the ceremony and obtain a BC certificate.

My question is:

- I now need to surrender Indian passport and acquire OCI. Can that be done together or I have to do them separately? Please guide me step by step.

You should apply for your British passport before you surrender your Indian passport.

Hiya, Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, surely that is the next step once I get the certificate. After I get that, I am not sure if there is a service to surrender the existing passport(s) and apply for OCI together.

They are separate. You will need to have a surrender certificate to apply for the OCI. Unfortunately, Indian processes are rigid so its two separate requests you have to make.
