IRP submitted after approval - My options for emergency travel

Post by mikeydublin » Wed Oct 07, 2020 9:38 am

My status is as follows:
Application submitted- oct 2018
Application approved - Late January 2020
Paid fees and sent IRP in Feb 2020
Awaiting ceremony.

My question is: I do not have re-entry visa on my passport (Because of rule change last year, IRP was enough for travel). Now If I have to travel outside Ireland for emergency, what are my options. Will I be allowed to enter back into Ireland, as I do not have IRP (Physically) with me?

If your IRP is still valid, you can either apply for a re-entry visa, or ask INIS to send your IRP card back.
