CoS Allocations for Tier 2 General Visa

Post by rahul_kapoor » Wed Oct 14, 2020 8:45 am

Hello All,
Just want to check if COS has been allocated to anyone recently ?
As i heard Sponsorship management system (SMS) is not allowing issuing COS for Tier 2 General visa.
I'm a railway engineer and got offer from UK Employer but waiting to issue COS in my name.
Any update will be appreciated. Regards,

It depends what type of cos you are waiting for and whether you are applying within the UK or from abroad?? There are two completely different process depending on where you are.

Also don't believe everything you "hear", it is often absolute nonsense.

COS for Tier 2 General - from abroad

-should be related to hiring engineers from outside UK on Tier 2 General Visa

There is already an existing topic about the Restricted CoS allocations only, link below.

uk-tier-2-employer-sponsored-visas/octo ... l#p1948092

Your sponsor will be informed when the rcos is approved after the monthly allocation meeting. It can take a few weeks. Once approved, only then can the sponsor assign the rcos to you in order for you to apply for the visa.

Note that rcos approval does not mean it guarantee that a visa will be approved.

Your sponsor will be informed when the rcos is approved - as per my understanding; the decision on rcos can only come when SMS system allows to issue / inititate the process. Please correct me if i am wrong.
I heard SMS is not allowing sponsors to issue rcos for Tier 2 general

That's the reason i am enquiring if anyone recently issued any COS - in month of September for Tier 2 General.

You have heard wrong.

People are still getting rcos after the monthly allocation meeting.
