Visa for older father

Post by mfreidin » Sat Oct 17, 2020 4:51 pm

Hi.
I am a naturalized UK citizen. I have a lone father who is 65+ living in other, non-EU country. He is reasonably well, has a property and a (very) small state pension. My ultimate goal is to get him a settlement in UK. However, I am not sure what would be the best route.
Please can get an advise?
Thank you.

Simply answer is, you can't. There also aren't 'multiple routes' available.

The Aduult Dependent Relative visa is one of the most difficult to get. If you choose to take the risk and it is refused, which it 99% will be, it also shuts the door to any future visitor visas to the UK. The very few who have been successful, have only be so after very long/lengthy and costly appeals.

Thank you for the prompt reply. It is rather discouraging.
So, his only option to see me here is a visitor visa then? Which can be used for 6 mo within a year?

That appears to be the only option. Even if you get long term. Visit visa at some.e point ge can not be seen to be staying longer in UK than home country.
