Settled Status after Naturalization

Post by George7371 » Fri Nov 06, 2020 3:37 pm

Hello Everyone,

A bit of a random one. I naturalized as a British citizen recently after having had settled status for 12+ months and even got my new British Passport.

I was curious as to whether and how the HO update their records. I used the online system where you can view and prove your right to live and work in the UK which was designed for people who had obtained SS.

I used my EU passport details and it still shows up as me having SS.

Does anyone know if they would eventually update that?

I understand that it is redundant now as my British passport is my proof in relation to the above going forward but still curious about how and when they update SS/ILR records?

Thanks

Why are you even checking the status if you have attended your ceremony or have a British Passport?

You did not need to do it. This is the requirement for BRP, but not for BRC obtained via EU route.

As for Settled Status records, they are known to update them very slowly (as is with everything they do).
People who changed the document linked to Settled Status reported still seeing online their status as linked to old document several months after they received the confirmation of update.
