Yes she is on 5years route or 60months.flowingwater wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:56 pmHi,
We applied spouse visa (outside UK) for my wife in last week of September 2020. Visa has been granted and we received it yesterday.
Her visa is valid from 09/11/2020 to 09/08/2023. Which means it is valid for 2 years and 9 months only, instead of full 3 years. I think it can cost us more as we might have to apply for another extension before she will be eligible for IRL. As it is D - PARTNER (STANDARD) visa, I believe she is on 5 years route for settlement.
Would like to understand if it is a standard procedure? If not then can we challenge this and what is the procedure to get it rectified?
Thanks in advance.

She should get ito the UK first as that is when you start counting her days, then FLR M extension sometime in the future
Thanks in advance.
Thanks @AmazonianX for clearing my doubts. It make sense.AmazonianX wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 1:22 pm
Yes she is on 5years route or 60months.
You seem to get it wrong, spouse visas are granted for 2.5 years, its the covid 19 that mad e the usual 1 month vignette 3months and that why end up with 2 years 9 months.
You will still apply for an extension
There is no leave under family route either being applied from inside/outside of UK which would be of 3 years rather only for 30 months. However, in contrary to all leave to remains, the entry clearance is initially granted for 33 months, thence, you have been issued with the correct amount of visa.flowingwater wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 12:56 pm

Covid-19 has resulted in vignettes being issued for 3 months but it isn't the reason these entry clearance visas are being issued for 2 years 9 months (33 months). It was so pre-Covid.
