FLR (FP) changed to FLR(M) by Home office, please help.

Post by Kurshedalam » Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:19 pm

My wife extended her visa on FLR(FP) in 2017 on 10 years route. She applied for extension August/20 in online using online form. After application Home office asked for pay slips for last 12months from her application date. I had employment and I earned over £19000. I had no problem to produce payslips. She also completed B1 English course. Now home office changed the track and issued visa based on FLR(M) partner visa on five years route rather than FLR(FP) in 10 years route. Now my concern if I have no job in next Visa extension time in 2023 what will be happened. Can I request home office change her Visa to original route FLR(FP) in 10 years route? Please advice. Thanks.

The year 2023 is long way to go from today by then a lot of requirements could have been changed, however, as the rule standing as of until the time of this post, then yes you can switch into flrfp. But in doing so her clock for ILR would be kept on resetting means incurring more expenditures. Therefore, ideally follow a good strategic plan under which make sure to keep earned at least £1550 each month during the last 6 months of the intended date of application or secure at least £62500 of cash savings.

No you can't as the decision has already been made which won't be retracted merely because of you not being received the BRP.

Thanks for your reply. It is not understandable why home office changed subsequent visa category. Thanks

Because you must have applied on flrm form while meeting all requirements.

Switch into flrfp 10 years again in worst case scenario.
