Settled status after Naturalisation

Post by rotev22219 » Fri Nov 13, 2020 9:50 am

Hi all,
I've recently naturalised as British. Do I need to do anything with my EU Settled status? I can still log in to the Gov website to prove my Settled status. I guess this isn't necessary anymore.
Do I need to get in touch with someone to get it removed?

Also - do I need to inform HMRC that I'm now British?

Many thanks.

I believe you don't have / should do anything with your settled status - you are an EEA dual citizen (?) and there may still be instances where you have rights under the Withdrawal Agreement (Lounes? - https://www.freemovement.org.uk/quick-q ... nationals/).

You don't need to inform HMRC, they'll take your tax whatever the nationality .... I would though as a minimum inform: your bank (maybe you can update your personal details online), your employer and most importantly the electoral register at your local council (change of nationality if you are already registered).

NB. re your passport, identity interviews are quire rare these day.
