Out of country stay due to COVID lockdown

Post by Britishhope » Sun Jan 17, 2021 10:03 pm

Hi,

I am in Tier 2 General VISA. I was out of country from March 2020 to August 2020 due to COVID lockdown.
I was not able to return as planned(in 20days) due to Lockdown.
I have all proofs regarding the lockdown measures, Flight cancellation etc.
Will this impact my ILR application in future?

Note: I have overstayed outside UK in the period between Sept 2019 and August 2020.

Hi Admin,

I posted ICT extension query on behalf of my friend. He got his extension done in 5 days

Query I posted now is for myself.
I am on Tier 2 general. I have complete 3 years in my current visa. But when I calculated my out of country stay, I could see for specific period I was away from UK for more than 6months. But that too due to COVID lockdown and international travel ban. So I raised this query to get clarified

There appears to be no relaxation of absence limits due to COVID for ILR.
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.
