Suitable Accommodation BEFORE Application?

Hello.

A quick question about needing proof of suitable accoommodation for the Spouse visa. How is this possible if the sponsor is living overseas and doesn't have family to stay with in the UK? Is it expected that the sponsor rents a place and spends money on monthly rent, while the place lies vacant and the application for the visa is in progress?

Is there any way around this as I would need to sort out my child's location before renting...not to mention the application being successful!

Find somewhere suitable and ask for a letter from the landlord confirming that they will allow you to live there with your spouse if the application is successful. Have the landlord confirm there is adequate space for you and spouse.

No need to start renting before the application or during the application.
