I run a company that is an approved licence holder.
We are looking to create a defined CoS as we want to hire a person from abroad. I have a few questions and your answers may help me in making right decision.
Prospective hiring is in Occupation code 2124. (Electronics Engineer). This is under Job Shortage list. The going rate of this is £34,700 per annum. I understand 70 points are needed. So,
1. Job offer will be provided by us - So 20 Points are sure.
2. Job at appropriate skill level - Since this is skilled job so I assume 20 points are okay ? Can you confirm ?
3. Person has got US MS degree so English will not be an issue - 10 POints confirmed.
4. Job is in shortage list already i checked - So 20 points are confirm I guess ? Can you confirm
This makes total of 70 and qualification is done.
Now, what to do about salary. ? If I qualify all above points does that mean, I only need to show minimum salary of 23,049 ? Will that still qualify for 70 points ?
If not then do I have to hire at going rate ? What about the applicability of 80/90% of salary rule vis a vis the points qualification for this Jobs code 2124 ?
