Can I work while waiting for visa

Post by cazzywazzy555 » Thu Oct 09, 2008 11:12 pm

Hi, I think this is a fairly simple question but havent been able to find an answer.

I wish to move to Canada to be with my boyfriend and just wondered how easy it would be for me go over there on a visit, get married and apply for PR?
Also how long after I marry him would I be able to work? - I doubt I could afford to live there for much more than 6 months without earning.

If it makes any difference I'm a uk citizen and he's a canadian citizen.

thanks for any help you can give me

It would depend on what visa you are using to come to Canada. I think if its less than 10 hours a week you should be okay....but the easiest thing to to figure out which visa you are using (Permanent Resident, skilled migrant, fiance etc) and figure out what the limitations are from there
