Undefined COS allocation

Post by sinhshr » Wed May 19, 2021 12:22 pm

Hi All,
I am in UK on tier-4 visa and working for a employer from past 1 month. My employer has already applied for COS allocation 4 weeks ago but yet to receive it. I am not sure what could be the problem as where ever I read it’s mentioned that cos allocation time is 1 day for undefined category (i.e. for people applying to switch visa from within UK). However my employer says that it takes 3-4 weeks. If I could get some information regarding this, it will be very helpful. Thanks.

May be your employer have applied for a new COS approval , though they have tier2 sponsorship license it is not guaranteed that they have enough COS licenses with them. Example ; The employer had 3 licences and sponsored all three now you are fourth one so they need 1 more COS approval from HO in such cases it might get delayed.

This is based on my experience, experts in this forum may be having more information.

Thank you so much for the response. Do you have any idea how much time it takes for these new COS licenses to get approved once it has been applied from the employer’s end. I am not getting any clear answer from my employer.
