FLR (FP) 10 Year Parent Route

Post by aravsandhuu » Thu Jul 08, 2021 5:41 am

Hi, I was granted leave to remain on 10 year parent route under paragraph R-LTRPT. 1.1.(a), (b) and (d) of these rules along with my son who was granted leave in line as my child dependent.

We are now applying for our fourth and final extension under the above 10 year parent route and I have few questions below:

1. Do I need to meet the financial or accommodation requirements?

2. My current accommodation rent is £1400 whereas my net income is £650 this year - I’m a business director/self employed therefore due to COVID I was on furlough with such low income. To cover the rent and other expenses I had my friends regularly transfer money into my account. Therefore, can I state this on the online form to cover the differences between my accommodation and income?

3. My son was under 18 at the time of our first initial application (7 year rule) but now he’s 25 years old and living with me at the same address, doesn’t lead an independent life and I have sole parental responsibility. He’s working full time and earns about £1500 per month. Is it a good idea to add him has an additional income to rely on and provide his financial supporting documents?

I would greatly appreciate if someone could advice me on the above questions.

Thank You!

Its completely a new scenario as we are not aware what could be the considerations by HO due to Covid impacting people’s financial circumstances, however you can include your son’s financial profile but do not submit the application without a very good immigration solicitor as your case is very complicated and there are currently no updates on such situations.

Parental responsibility is not relevant to children over 18. He is an adult now.

If he is working full time, he is likely going to be considered as leading an independent life.

Thank you for your response, I shall consult a solicitor for advice on this matter. Although my son was 23 years old at our last extension they didn’t consider him as leading an independent life because he was still living with me at the same address and he has not formed he’s own family yet.

Hi thank you for your response, i will consult legal advice.

I have read all the clauses and to my understanding applications on 10 year route don’t have to meet the finical requirements isn’t it?
