I also am interested in this information, though I am a Unix sysadmin, and not a .net programmer. Kindly paste your info on the open forum, and not a PM. Thanks.

Reg. HSMP & Job search

Post by sagarjv » Thu Mar 03, 2005 11:55 pm

Hello,
Pls go through the HSMP process i under went. It might be of your use.
Here is the link to my HSMP related info I have posted:
http://immigrationboards.com/viewtopic. ... highlight=

Coming to job search for HSMP holders:

I was mostly relying on these job sites:
www.jobserve.co.uk
www.jobsite.co.uk
www.monster.co.uk

There are few other sites also like reed.co.uk, IT Job boards etc. but the above 3 sites are good.
Apart from this, its better to get certified in your area (in my case I am a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer in .NET) Apart from that, here is the way my achiement framed:

1 st week ===> applied for jobs everyday from all the jobsites and got confirmations for interviewes
2 nd week===>attended interviewes
3rd week ==> got results of my interviewes / calls for 2nd interviewes
Apart from this during my 1st month in UK i was working on part time at one of my friends company.

Hope this gives you a better idea.

Regards,
Sagar

Hello Sagar,

Heartiest Congratulations!.

Your success really motivates me. Could you please let me know about how you went about job serach?

I mean -
Did you take help of job consultants?
Did you apply only through job portals?

How has been the recruitment process? I mean- communication, interviewers interest etc.

It would be great if u address my question.

Thanks and Regads,
Rajesh.

Hi,
I didnt directly applied to any consltunacies instead I was mostly relying on these job sites:
www.jobserve.co.uk
www.jobsite.co.uk
www.monster.co.uk

Once u start applying from job sites, consultancies will call us to cross check. I had some difficulties for first 2 days in understanding their accent. Then I was comfortable in understanding them.

Coming to salaries, u can expect around 25-32 K.

Sagar

Sagar,
Congrat. I liked your moves and would emulate you, but I want to know the type of work you did on part-time in the first month. Career related job or just other type to keep body and soul together?
