Question about Spouse visa

I realise that a person has to earn £18,600 a year before tax in order to bring his non EU spouse to the UK. However, how does one show this? Does the person in question have to have a contract(some people working may not have signed a contract)? Or can the evidence be provided simply by showing payslips?

Also if a person changes jobs in the 6 month period required to make these earnings, how long of a gap between being employed is allowed? Or does the income required have to be evidenced by consistent weekly/monthly earnings of the required amount?

Letter from your employer, payslips and bank statements covering dame period and reflecting the income.

Also if a person changes jobs in the 6 month period required to make these earnings, how long of a gap between being employed is allowed? Or does the income required have to be evidenced by consistent weekly/monthly earnings of the required amount? There are categories to cater for such which probably will lead in your scenario to be Category B to meet financial requirements.
