Change Jobs on PNP [Answered]

Post by dbdoc » Sun Nov 02, 2008 10:12 am

Hello
I have a BC PNP certificate and have applied for permanent residence and I'm awaiting a response. My work visa is tied to my job, which I got (temporarily at least) let go from yesterday for cash flow reasons. I might be able to go back on a contract basis soon but it's hit and miss at this stage.

My work permit expires in February and I had already planned and booked a (return) flight home for christmas before I found out.

My question is if I find another job doing the same work before then can I change my PNP or would I need to start over from the beginning?

I'm thinking I'd have to start over but hoping someone will tell me I'm wrong :(

Thanks

To answer my own question for anyone else who is wondering the same thing, the answer is yes, you can. I contacted the provincial nominee agent who was looking after my application (not Buffalo) and he asked for the job offer forms etc. He then sent me a letter which I had to take to the Border Post. Going to an airport wasn't good enough, they wouldn't process it.

Hope this is useful to someone in these times.
