Citizenship Ceremony 13th December 2021 Postponed

Post by johnpromise01 » Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:42 am

The citizenship ceremony scheduled to be held in the INEC in Killarney on December 13th 2021 is now postponed.

All candidates scheduled to attend at this event will now be facilitated through the postal statutory declaration process and Citizenship Division will shortly issue correspondence to candidates in this regard.

Queries in relation to the postponement should be addressed to citizenshipinfo@justice.ie and NOT to INEC Killarney.

Predictable given the covid situation.

Glad I just paid a lot of money to postpone planned travel by a day so I could attend this...oh well. Don't have to haul my a$$ down to Killarney for a day at least.

I am glad its cancelled. I know it makes sense for the government to extract as much money as possible from people but I am not sure if Irish representative in COP will be able to show his/her face after telling them that we ask 4000 people to drive 200 miles on average in mostly diesel/petrol cars to fetch a piece of paper.

Anyone knows what happens after you make payment of 950 ? Does the website/portal update the status to completed ?

If you look at 2019/2020 timelines, people are reporting that their form went from "submitted" to "completed" after a week's time. I have submitted mine on 16th, haven't have any movement yet. Will update once i get any update on this.

Hey everyone, just wondering if there's other people who were approved and invited to the cancelled ceremony 13.12.21 still waiting for their naturalization certs. Btw I didn't get an invite for the online ceremony but my fees were processed on the 24.11.21. I hope I'll get the cert soon tho.
Thanks

Hi,

I got the email advising payment has been processed on 23rd Nov. Have not received the naturalisation certificate yet.

Has anyone else received their naturalisation cert? could you share timelines please?

I'm in the same boat. I'm awaiting the naturalisation certificate. I have got the approval on 11th Nov - then uploaded the documents and paid 950 Euros. My fees were processed on the 16th of Nov. I didn't get an invite to the online ceremony this week.

I have seen three people get their certificates (they all got the approval on 11th Nov week). All three were either related to Irish descent/associations. The certificates were printed on 6th Dec for them. They didn't get the invite to the online ceremony.

Is anyone other than Irish decent/associations who got the naturalisation cert who were invited for the 13th cancelled ceremony? I was hoping something will come out this week but nothing yet!

Received the approval letter on 12th of November and asked to pay fee and upload passport IRP and pictures, did next day, got declaration on 17th of may which I sent back next day, still waiting for the cert, exact one month since they have received my declaration, not invited for the online ceremony. Hope everyone get the certs soon.

Dear SeanDub, Is your naturalisation based on Non-EU 5 year completion or a different category?

That's great SeanDub. Congratulations! :)

I haven't seen any Non-EU candidates who got the naturalization certificates (from the ones who were invited to the initial cancelled face to face ceremony on 13th Dec).

Hopefully they will release the cert before this year-end or worse case early next year! Fingers crossed!

Hi Guys,

I have finally received the naturalisation cert on Saturday (18/12) printed on 16/12. The long wait is finally over! This forum is invaluable during my naturalisation journey. Thank you so much for the never-ending support, guys! Best of luck everyone!

45 month since I made my application, I have finally received my certificate of naturalisation. 45 effing months. Straight forward application on stamp 1 and 4, no sham marriage, no refugee status, no social welfare, no insurance fraud, no medical card, no HAP, not even a parking ticket on my record. Needed to hire a solicitor eventually to nudge them to look at my application otherwise I would still have been waiting.
