Thank you for your correspondence dated requesting progress on your application for naturalisation as a British citizen.
I can confirm that your application is in the process and that decisions on applications are usually made within six months.
I am sorry if your application is taking longer than usual to be processed. As you may be aware, naturalisation is not an automatic process, and we have to make a number of enquiries to ensure that applicants can satisfy the statutory requirements. Some of these enquiries are carried out by external agencies on our behalf and can sometimes take longer than six months to complete.
The Home Office will endeavour to process applications as quickly as possible but in the current circumstances, applications will take longer than normal to process, including applications for British Citizenship. If you have submitted an application and are concerned about missing a deadline to enrol biometrics, provide additional information or take a citizenship ceremony, please be assured that extra time will be allowed, and applications will be held open during this period. No adverse decisions will be made on applications because of delays caused by Coronavirus.
Please be assured that as soon as we are in a position to reach a decision, you will be notified accordingly.
Yours sincerely

I do not what kind of checks HO is doing. i never ever have any criminal record in my life anywhere except one parking ticket plenty which i paid on time and mentioned in my application. Me and my brother applied at the same time as we were on same Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa and till ILR we applied together by using same business detail etc. He has received his British Citizenship approval email in the first week of November 2021. Honestly have no idea what to do next and

We aim to process all applications within 6 months from the date submitted. However, in certain circumstances this target is not possible. Following our assessment of your case, unfortunately it appears your application will not be processed within the 6 month target.
This is because your application raises exceptionally complex issues and we require further time to consider your case thoroughly and reach a decision.
We expect to make a decision on your application as soon as possible, but we will write to you again if this is not going to be possible.
Yours sincerely

The interesting thing is HO send same email for my 2.5 years old daughter (Born in UK, before my ILR, Never traveled out side the UK), Do not know what kind of complex issued HO found in her application
It's not been agreed by anybody or between anybody (not trying to defend the HO or their standards btw), 6 months is a 'published service standard', i.e. the time it can take for a straightforward application to be processed with no guarantees or commitments. Not great or what we would like to see and, at the end of the day with nationality applications HO can take all the time in the world they want as we're told nationality (by discretion) is a privilege, not a right. In the meantime, all one can do is keep contacting HO, get your MP involved etcprs wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 2:03 pmwasfah wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 1:52 pmToday i got default reply from Ho

There's no issue! They send out these automated, generic emails when they can't make a decision within the agreed time (6 months)!
I understand and I agree to a certain extend. However, this is a "business" and also a stream of income for the government. in any business, transparency is the key. this is where the HO has failed for years.dexmo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 2:43 pmIt's not been agreed by anybody or between anybody (not trying to defend the HO or their standards btw), 6 months is a 'published service standard', i.e. the time it can take for a straightforward application to be processed with no guarantees or commitments.
