solicitor MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

Post by alyo » Thu Dec 09, 2021 1:58 pm

HI everyone

I have applied for citizenship 3 months ago i was on Tier 1 visa .

My wife and 4 children are on refugee status and they have all been living here for 7 years they were previously my dependents on teir 1 and then they left my visa and were granted refugee status.

A solicitor wants to apply for my 4 chilren 14,12,10,7 for naturalisation and he thinks i should apply for them now before a decision is made on my application.

He is so confident that he put it writing and in an email that if my children are not granted citizenship he will refund his work for 2 applications plus home office fees.

He is relying on the following immigration law

Registration at the Home Secretary’s discretion – Section
3(1) application Children born abroad to parents who are applying for British citizenship

is this too good to be true ?

kindly advise if i should go ahead.

Thanks
Alf

if he's a reputable solicitor and has a registered office and business, then you have nothing to loose. go for it.

Thank you for your reply . I have checked their firms reviews on Google they have a 5 star rating.

I have visited their offices and it looks legit.

Shall i ask him to sign a contract that states money back gurantee? or is the email law binding and enough?

Thanks again
Alf

I would personally ask them to write a contract and you both sign it and you should keep a copy of it too.

Don't forget to get a receipt from him as well. this is important if you try to take them to court if they fail to pay your fees back in case they fail.

Why use a solicitor in the first place? What do you think they can do for you that you can't do yourself?

Are you suggesting that i just apply/ register them on my own? Is it the same procedure ?

I thought solicitors know ways to sway or convince home office to grant citizenship.

thanks

Children born abroad are expected to hold ilr first and can apply for citizenship only when one parent is also applying/already British AND the other parent holds ILR.

Failing this, it is usually refused and you lose your fees.

All children born abroad apply under discretion section 3(1). It is not some obscure rule no one knows about. It is the standard way an section for born abroad children.

Solicitors have absolutely now away or influence with UKVI.

Your choice. You lose the whole fee for each application if refused.

There is no 7 year citizenship route either. Children born abroad require ilr first AND one parent must be British and the other hold ilr.

Citizenship laws are very different to immigration rules.
